Extra Curricular
EnrichmentsMusic
During music instruction students learn to create and appreciate music through singing, dancing, and playing instruments. Music instruction includes activities in correlation to each core subject area. Our students are able to embrace their creativity, make cultural and historical connections all while incorporating music throughout their daily life. Every child is provided with many opportunities to share their love of music through church services and musical theater performances. At the end of the year Trinity puts on a school-wide talent show where students are encouraged to showcase their God given talents.
Physical Education & Health
Here at Trinity we believe it is important for students to learn about their body, how it works, and what it needs to thrive. Our program teaches students about safety, stretching, balance, locomotive, and non-locomotive skills. We teach our students at an early age how to participate in physical education and hold discussions using a healthy mind and heart. We provide activities that focus on movement competency, cognitive abilities, and lifetime fitness. Students also learn how to include physical activity and responsible eating habits into their various lifestyles.
Art
Students are exposed to multiple methods of art using reflection, innovation, historical/global connections, and organizational structure. They learn how to appreciate art and have fun while still using elements and principles of design. The lessons are developed and centered around famous artists, seasons, holidays, historical figures and monthly themes to correlate cross-circularly.
Technology
Trinity Christian School recognizes that technology is an essential component of our students’ lives. Teachers utilize ISTE and State standards to outline the technology curriculum. Technology instruction, keyboarding skills, and digital citizenship begins in Kindergarten and continues through 5th Grade. Brand new eighth generation student iPads are used in each classroom with a 1:1 student to iPad ratio. Other devices found in the classroom include 65 inch smart TV’s, Apple TV’s, and Dash robots for students to bring coding to life.
Spanish
At Trinity Christian, we understand that language acquisition is integral to achieving the greater goal for our students to excel in a global community. Our Spanish teacher commits to ensuring our students feel confident with the language at an early age so they are able to incorporate reading and writing skills into their language acquisition and build upon what they have already learned in past lessons.
Bible
Our Bible program provides students with an opportunity to know and love Jesus on a personal level. It is designed to expose students to God’s word & apply His teachings in their daily lives. Our students are taught various Bible stories, how to pray, and what it looks like to reach others for Christ. Trinity’s faculty members are dedicated educators who serve as loving models of Christianity. They mentor students and help form their character. Our goal is for students to leave Trinity and continue to walk with Christ throughout the rest of their lives. Students at Trinity Christian School know that God has a plan and greater purpose for their life.
Chapel
At Trinity Christian School we believe the spiritual growth of a child is as important as all other areas of development. Proverbs 22:6 says if you “Train a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it.” This is the basis of our bible curriculum as we prepare each child for our greater world. Monthly character traits are focused on, such as grace, integrity, gratitude, generosity, self-control, honor, and responsibility. All classes have a daily devotion and students have the opportunity to share prayer requests and praise reports.
Library
Trinity Christian School partners with the Doreen Gauthier Lighthouse Point Library. Students have story time with the librarian and complete an activity to reinforce what they have learned. Students are assisted in identifying, locating, interpreting and evaluating information each month. Our students develop an appreciation for different types of literature depending on their individual reading level. The librarians strive to ensure every child leaves with a good fit book.
Field Trips
Our extracurricular trips include visits to museums, zoos, theaters and other educational environments in Broward, Palm Beach and Dade Counties. Most trips are planned to correlate with current classroom curriculum and enhance the learning experience of our program. Each trip is carefully planned with thought and purpose so our students make long lasting memories.
